Community Water Leaders Network
Community Water Center launched the Community Water Leaders Network to address systemic exclusion of low-income, rural communities of color in water decision making. The aim is to build a pipeline of strong community leaders and support their participation in local, regional, and state water policy in order to achieve community-driven water solutions.
CWLN is a network of elected officials in the San Joaquin Valley and Central Coast that hold power over water decision-making. CWLN members serve on city councils, county boards of supervisors, public utilities districts, community services districts, school boards and more. They join together as CWLN to advance the Human Right to Water throughout California.
Together, CWLN members are committed to fostering transparent, local water districts that engage with and are accountable to their communities, and to building a healthy and vibrant future for their community.
